Today was reunion day for Danny.  We saw Rene Arnoldi from Germany, Caesar Abi-Habib from L.A. and John Weidemann from the Chicago area.

John writing up our purchase

If you were able to come to our open house in November there is a good chance you met our dear friend and color stone dealer John Weideman.  John is helping his preferred source work the show this year.  He introduced us to them and we must say that they have some of the finest quality, color and cut stones at the entire show. Not only did we buy some gems from them but we now know where to go first if anyone wants a significant size center stone.

Some rough at the booth John was at.  The Spinel rough in the center is valued at $50,000

Rene and Danny have known each  for over 20 years.  They caught up on old times and I got to hear some more great gem stories.  We picked up some pink tourmaline melee (melee-small stones under .17ct each) that we will use with some diamond melee to make a few circle pendants.

Caesar and Danny are also friends of 20 years.  Caesar is one of the colored stone dealers that the AGTA turns to when confirming the global pulse of the gemstone market.  He has offices in New York, Brazil and Thailand.  We searched him out to fulfill a special project that we are working on that we will unveil this spring..

We are now off to dinner with John and a couple of his Ukrainian dealers.
